140 Moscow Streets chosen for Piloting of Driverless Cars

Moscow approved the testing of public and private driverless vehicles, including taxis, on 140 streets. On 18 of the chosen streets, as well as on the territory of the Skolkovo center, unmanned vehicles will be able to travel with passengers and luggage.

According to the published list of streets, driverless tests will mainly be carried out in the south, south-west, west and in the center of Moscow: Aminevskoe, Varshavskoe, Ochakovskoe, Staromozhayskoe highway, Sevastopolsky prospect, Frunzenskaya embankment, Vernadsky avenue, Luzhniki bridge, Presnenskaya embankment, Proletarsky prospect.

On Wednesday, November 24, the Moscow City Duma positively assessed the proposal to introduce an experimental legal regime in Moscow for testing unmanned taxis.

At the end of August, it was reported that the testing of driverless vehicles without test engineers in the cabins will soon take place in Moscow.
