95 Billion Rubles to Be Allocated to Create Sfera Satellite System

The government approved the creation of the Sfera satellite system and will allocate 95 billion rubles for the project.

The new framework is planned to combine the GLONASS satellite navigation system, Earth remote sensing systems, Express-RV and Gonets satellite communication systems with several other communication and Internet access systems.

Roscosmos, in partnership with Satellite Communications Russia and Gazprom Space Systems, will be engaged in the creation of the national operator for Sfera orbital constellations.

Previously it was announced that Roscosmos would launch 162 satellites providing broadband Internet access and communications with IoT devices.
