97% of Russian households will be provided with broadband Internet by 2030, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said during a meeting of the Council for strategic development and national projects, RNS reports.
"By 2030, in order to ensure full penetration of all the benefits and opportunities of digitalization, it is necessary that 95% of all socially significant services for citizens are available online. This will, of course, require that almost the entire population of our country be provided with broadband Internet access. We offer an indicator of 97% of households that will be connected to the Internet, " Chernyshenko said.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the government is also working on an instruction from Russian President Vladimir Putin to gradually switch to Russian hardware and software.
