The Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of Moscow, together with drone developers, are discussing possible testing areas for drones intended for commercial use. Skolkovo territories, as well as landscape parks and undeveloped areas in Moscow districts outside the Moscow Ring Road are considered for tests.
Vedomosti writes about this, with reference to the press service of the working group on improving legislation to ensure the implementation of the activities of Aeronet NTI.
As the head of the Aeronet association, Gleb Babintsev, explained to the publication, the meetings were attended by representatives of the department, drone development companies, as well as Invitro and the Skolkovo innovation center. Sber Logistics and Russian Post are also interested in the transportation of goods by drones.
According to Babintsev, testing of drones will be carried out under an experimental legal regime. Test zones may appear not only in Moscow, but also in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, the Tomsk Region and the Southern Federal District, the expert explained.
The first test flights can take place only in late 2021 - early 2022.
