Among the organizations with a number of employees from five to 10 thousand people, AI technologies have been introduced only in every fifth company, and every twentieth enterprise with less than 250 employees, according to a study conducted by the Higher School of Economics.

Analysts point to a low level of AI penetration in Russia. So, last year, such technologies were used by only 5.4% of the total number of companies in Russia. Most often, enterprises use AI for management and production tasks. These are data mining, virtual assistants and chatbots. The use of computer vision is less common.

According to the study, in the future, businesses will demand more complex solutions that integrate AI with other digital technologies, including the Internet of Things, 5G and distributed ledger systems. As specified, this will allow the transition from fragmented to systemic assimilation of AI technologies along the entire value chain.

In addition, the authors of the study note the role of ethical aspects in the commercial distribution of AI, as well as the importance of practices for obtaining and using data.
