According to iKS-Consulting consultant Stanislav Mirin, the number of rack spaces in Russian data centers created for commercial operation increased by 8.5% compared to 2020 - from 48,500 units to 52,600 units. In 2020, the growth was 9.9%.

According to Stanislav Mirin, last year some of the new sites were not put into operation due to interruptions in the deliveries of equipment related to pandemic restrictions. Since March 2022, the situation has been complicated by the withdrawal of foreign suppliers from Russia. He also notes that the potential demand for commercial data center services remains high due to the digitalization of industries and the annual growth in the volume of stored and processed data.

The demand is also affected by the growth in the number of Internet users and their demands for data transmission speeds.

According to iKS-Consulting, in 2022 the number of rack spaces will increase by 3,100 units (6% growth).
