The commercial data center operator IXcellerate announced the completion of construction and the commissioning of the first set of facilities of its third data center, MOS5. This is the first operating facility of IXcellerate South Campus. The campus is located in Moscow (Biryulyovo district) and possesses an area of 14 hectares and 1516 rack spaces.
The company has begun the construction of the second set of MOS5 facilities (836 rack spaces). The commissioning of all five sets of facilities is scheduled for 2024. In total, the data center will have 4722 rack spaces and its power capacity will be of 64 MW.
The total number of rack spaces in the ecosystem of IXcellerate (North and South campuses) is about 5,000. The company plans to expand both sites and build 5 new facilities by 2031. It is assumed that in 10 years IXcellerate will have 8 data centers, and the South Campus will become the largest data processing site among commercial data centers in Europe.
