President Vladimir Putin of Russia signed a law that expands the benefits for the IT industry including preferential income tax rates and reduced insurance premium rates. The document is published on the official portal of legal information.

Key points:

• the income tax rate is set at 0% until December 31, 2024;
• the insurance premium rate is set at 7.6%;
• the quantitative criterion for the share of IT revenue, which allows to receive tax benefits, was decreased from 90% to 70%;
• the criterion for the number of employees of organizations (minimum 7 people) for receiving benefits was excluded;
• the list of IT activities enjoying the benefits was expanded;
• vendors providing Saas solutions through closed networks will also be able to enjoy benefits.

The amendments come into force as of January 1, 2022.
