M.Video-Eldorado Group plans to start supplying its own IT solutions to the Russian market in 2023. The first product that will be offered to domestic retail chains may be video analytics. Other solutions have not yet been reported.
The company has already implemented three models of using this technology: "lonely buyer" - notifies the manager about a visitor who is alone in the trading floor for a long time; "Queue management" - signals the cashiers about the formed queue near the cash registers so that they return to their workplaces; "Heat maps" - shows the route of buyers through the sales area with delays at specific storefronts.
The group began to develop its own solutions due to the redundant functionality and cost of existing solutions on the market, said Dmitry Marykin, Head of the Department for Process Development and Change Support at M.Video-Eldorado.
