SkillFactory service became part of Skillbox Holding Limited, which already includes educational platforms Skillbox and GeekBrains.
Prior to the deal, Mail.ru Group had a minority stake in SkillFastory in the amount of 18.31%, as well as an option to purchase additional shares with a plan to implement it in the second half of this year. After the deal is closed, Skillbox will become the holder of a controlling stake in the service, with 61.8%.
SkillFactory will develop educational projects under its own brand. At the same time, the co-founder and CEO of the service, Alexander Eroshkin, together with other co-founders, will continue to lead SkillFactory.
Mail.ru Group did not disclose plans for the further development of the holding.

SkillFactory, which specializes in professional and higher education in the fields of data science, Big Data and programming, was founded in 2016. In June 2020, it was reported that Mail.ru Group took control of 40.4% stake in the company as security.
