Students from 106 universities, taking part in the Priority 2030 program, will take compulsory IT courses, including programming, data analysis and digital literacy. Graduates will receive an additional IT qualification.
Educational institutions had been assumed to develop IT courses as additional professional education. Now the courses are expected to be compulsory. The educational program will start on September 1. In addition, “one or two profile IT companies” are planned to accompany each university.
The initiative was inspired by the lack of IT knowledge among graduates. The Ministry of Digital Development stated that the assessment of students’ digital competencies “will take place in the beginning, along with the studies, and at the end of the courses”.
