The Ministry of Digital Development started recruiting specialists for the “digital attaché” position in Russian trade missions abroad. They will be engaged in the operations to support the export of domestic IT products.
This year the digital attaché service will be launched in 16 countries: Brazil, Vietnam, Germany, Egypt, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Cuba, Malaysia, UAE, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, the Republic of South Africa and South Korea. It is expected that in 2024 the service will be launched 28 countries.
The recruitment of specialists will be carried out on a competitive basis. Experts of the Ministry of Digital Development note that these specialists should “understand the competitive advantages of domestic solutions.”
According to Russoft, in 2020 the volume of exports of IT products from Russia reached $7 billion. In 2021, revenues from sales of domestic software grew to $8.2 billion (620 billion rubles).
The idea of creating a digital attaché service appeared in 2019. In 2021, the creation of the service was approved as part of the second set of measures to support the IT industry.
