The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology has developed and tested a digital receiver board that will ensure communication of small spacecraft with Earth. The solution is based mainly on Russian components, and the instrumental functions of the space onboard equipment are implemented in the form of an electronic component base product - they are wired into one integrated circuit.
According to the developers, the board has a two-channel analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converter, a clock distribution unit, a digital module, a read-only memory device and a set of interfaces. Developers also add that “signal processing operations occur on a single chip, not on several chips, as usual.” Specialists plan to create a transceiver to control satellites for various purposes on the basis of this solution.
