Artificial intelligence technology has helped analyze over 300,000 medical images. All polyclinics in the capital are connected to AI services. The project is being implemented as part of an experiment on the use of innovative technologies in the field of computer vision.
The first service included in the experiment was trained to identify signs of COVID-19 on CT scans of the chest organs. Now AI is also used to analyze other diseases: to detect lung cancer based on the results of CT and low-dose CT of the chest and to look for signs of breast cancer on mammograms.
According to Sergei Morozov, director of the Diagnostic and Telemedicine Center, in the future, artificial intelligence will not only be able to draw the attention of a radiologist to alarming changes, but also suggest the most effective treatment regimen by analysing big data.
