Moscow Department of Transport and Yandex plan to test self-driving trams in Moscow. This was announced by the head of the Moscow Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development Maxim Liksutov during a visit to the Yandex office on Saturday. He noted that such transport can be used almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is also reported that the use of unmanned vehicles should improve traffic safety on the roads, because 70% of accidents are caused by drivers.

According to the press service of the self-driving vehicles division of Yandex, the aim is to develop a universal unmanned control system that can be applied to any transport platform - cars, trucks, buses or even delivery robots.
