Moscow hosted a meeting of the executive committee of the World Organization for Smart Sustainable Cities (WeGO). The association, created in 2010, brings together about 210 city and other local authorities. The online meeting was attended by representatives of Seoul, Vancouver, Paris and other cities.
The main topic of the meeting was the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on urban governance processes, as well as the use of information technology and the organization of the provision of medical services to the population.
“The pandemic has brought chaos, but we are adapting to the new reality. A smart city is nothing if people are not healthy and happy, ”said WeGo General Secretary Ken-Yun Lee.
Moscow demonstrated to the meeting participants the work of the Moscow Traffic Management Center (TSODD), the Scientific and Practical Clinical Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine Technologies in Moscow, and the multifunctional centers for the provision of public services “My Documents”.
