Moscow was ranked 8th among the cities of the world in terms of innovative attractiveness. The Russian capital is ahead of Seoul and Singapore and is the leader in terms of digital infrastructure development, the number of Wi-Fi access points (36 642), science and technology parks (39) and co-working spaces, according to HSE Global Cities Innovation Index.

Moscow was also ranked 9th in terms of the number of startups attracted. Moscow patent activity amounts to 21.2 thousand applications (11th place in the ranking), which is almost 20% of all Russian applications for registration of inventions.

The ranking encompasses 36 cities and was calculated based on 120 indicators.
