First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia Alexander Gorovoy announced plans to develop an application to an electronic passport in Moscow by the end of 2021. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a pilot introduction of the electronic passport for citizens is planned by December 1, 2021.
In January, the Ministry of Digital Development announced its intention to conduct an experiment in 2021 in some regions of Russia to replace driving licenses with QR codes.
According to him, the implementation of the application project with the designation of the list of services for citizens is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. By this time, specialists will have to carry out preparatory work of both legal and technical nature.
