MTS: Telegram and WhatsApp have become equal in terms of the volume of mobile traffic in Moscow
Mobile Internet traffic of Telegram and WhatsApp messengers in Moscow in December 2020 and September 9, 2021 became equal for the first time.
In other cities, WhatsApp leads both in the number of users and in terms of traffic. So, from January to December 2020, WhatsApp traffic in Russia grew by almost 40%, and Telegram traffic - more than 60 times.
According to forecasts of MTS analysts, in 2021, the volume of Telegram traffic in Russia will continue to grow at a faster pace than WhatsApp due to the fact that Telegram attracts a user audience with content and replaces media sites and news portals.
