According to a study by Russia's largest mobile operator MTS, in 2021 the Internet of Things (IoT) market in Russia will increase by 15%, to 117 billion rubles. Over the next two years, the growth will average 16.5%, and the growth in the number of connections - 19%. The most active development of IoT is expected in the housing and communal services and industry (by 39% and 19% by 2023, respectively).
The company clarifies that one of the market drivers is the development of eSIM technology. By the end of 2023, about 20% of all IoT devices in Russia will be connected via eSIM, the operator predicts.
