According to the press service of the Moscow Healthcare Department, over 150 thousand radiology images were processed in Moscow using artificial intelligence.

“As a part of the Moscow experiment on the implementation of computer vision in radiology, artificial intelligence services were integrated into the radiological information service. During the peak of the pandemic 98% of all test results analyzed by the technology were CT scans of the chest organs of patients with suspected coronavirus infection and pneumonia. Artificial intelligence algorithms for diagnosing other diseases will be introduced in 2020,” - the statement said.

It is noted that in medical organizations, artificial intelligence analyzes several types of radiology examinations - computed tomography, X-ray diagnostics, mammography and fluorography. They are used to detect pneumonia, lung cancer and other pulmonary pathologies, as well as breast cancer.

The statement specifies that the results of the work of artificial intelligence services are available in 48 inpatient facilities and 193 polyclinics, including there branches. The wide implementation of the technology became possible due to the modernization of diagnostic equipment in medical facilities and the availability of the unified radiological information service for storing and working with medical images, as artificial intelligence services can only work with digital images. They also need to be integrated with the radiological information service to ensure stable work with the research stream.
