In the first quarter of 2022 the number of DDoS attacks with a bandwidth of up to 10 Gb/s increased by 19% in Russia. Over 900 thousand devices were involved in the implementation of these attacks.
Application Layer (L7) attacks prevailed among the incidents. These attacks use encrypted traffic, and the requests are similar to the traffic of legitimate users. This type of attacks is one of the most difficult to detect and filter, since a large amount of computing power is required for cleaning.
A decrease in the intensity of DDoS attacks in Russia was reported in March. According to Qrator Labs, a decrease in the number of incidents has been observed since March 9-10.
