The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Linxdatacenter, and ER-Telecom will build a data center for 4,000 racks in Moscow as part of the expansion of Linxdatacenter and the development of its cloud service in Russia.
The commissioning of the data center is scheduled for early 2024. In addition, it is planned to gradually increase the energy capacity of the facility up to 50 MW. The volume of investments in the project will be about $200 million.
The data center is to become the largest of the company's data centers and its second facility in Moscow. Another Linxdatacenter data center is located in St. Petersburg.
In April 2021, RDIF and ER-Telecom acquired 100% of Linxdatacenter's subsidiary Svyaz VSD. Then it was reported that the main task of the joint cloud platform would be to provide the largest Russian and international companies with the necessary virtual infrastructure. As a result of the deal, ER-Telecom will be able to enter the commercial cloud data center market and expand the range of services for B2B clients.
