Rostelecom used TeqViser, an AI product, to study the impact of COVID-19 on technology trends in 2020, and analyzed published content in industry media, scientific journals, patent applications and investor activity. Key findings are:

• The number of posts in technology-related media on the topic of e-health increased by 91% compared to 2019, in scientific journals - by 17%.

•  The number of posts on the topic of e-learning increased by 130%, the number of research articles - by 7%, the amount of investments increased by 167%, and the number of issued patents grew by 25%.

• The e-commerce trend has not shown significant growth. There was a slight reduction in the number of patents compared to 2019, and the number of posts about e-commerce increased significantly.

• Sharing economy trend dropped by 15 positions in the overall ranking. The areas related to the rental of housing and transport were affected the most.
