Russia was ranked 38th in the annual Euler Hermes Enabling Digitalization Index (EDI) among 115 countries in 2020. Compared to 2019, Russia has lost one position.
Countries were assessed in five aspects: business regulatory environment, knowledge ecosystem, connection quality, infrastructure and market size. The three leaders in 2020 were the United States, Germany and Denmark.
The press service of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development told ComNews that this rating was the opinion of a private company, “which in general does not contradict the situation in the world”. However, in terms of digitalization, Russia is guided by the E-government development index, which is calculated by the UN.
