Russia to Launch a Service for Monitoring Emissions in Industrial Cities in 2022

This year Russia will launch a service for monitoring emissions in large industrial cities. A unified information system will be created by 2024. The system will be integrated with other systems of government agencies. By 2030, an integrated system for monitoring the state of the environment on the territory of the Russian Federation will be created.

The government experts clarified that the collection, storage, processing, analysis, provision and dissemination of information on the state of environment in Russia “will be carried out by integrating existing and emerging information resources of ministries and departments, territorial entities of the Russian Federation, and other participants in state environmental monitoring.”
