Russian Post Launches Parcel Delivery in Moscow Using Yandex.Rovers

Russian Post, the national postal operator, will deliver parcels using Yandex unmanned delivery robots in Moscow. The first stage will cover 27 branches of the capital, 36 Yandex.Rovers will deliver parcels, Interfax reports.

To receive the service, you will need the Russian Post Android application. If the user is in the coverage area, then after selecting the delivery of the parcel to the house, he will see the option with free delivery in the application interface. It will be possible to pick up the parcel near the entrance, for which you will need a code that will come in SMS.

At the launch of the project, delivery is carried out from four branches in the Khamovniki district, and within a month another 23 branches will be connected. The delivery radius will be 2 km.

Earlier, Russian Post has moved its tech divisions into a separate IT company Pochta Service that will focus on computer equipment and digital infrastructure, with the staff of 3.6 thousand employees.
