According to Sergey Popov, Director of Sberbank’s transaction business, the company may issue tokens that can be used for settlements involving digital financial assets, Prime reports.

Popov told reporters the details during an online discussion “Digital financial assets in practice”. The representatives of the bank’s press service told RIA Novosti that the decision on the issuance of tokens would be made soon.
At the end of July, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law that allows digital financial assets transactions, but prohibits to use cryptocurrencies as a means of payment in Russia starting from January 1, 2021.
