Sberbank announced that it has patented in the Federal Service for Intellectual Property "wearable magnetometers" - an invention of Alexandra Bernadotte from the SberDevices team.
The patent gives the company the ability to conduct brain research to create neural interfaces. Also, the magnetometer can be used to diagnose diseases, study finds in archeology, search for mineral deposits and in other areas.
The magnetometer can register small and medium magnetic fields, including those emitted by the human brain. "Sberbank" does not give exact figures on the effectiveness of the device, but reports that it exceeds the existing ones in sensitivity "by tens and hundreds of times", "can be relatively inexpensive to manufacture" and cost "hundreds of thousands of times" less than the existing SQUID magnetometers ( used to measure very weak magnetic fields).
