Spektr (a subsidiary of Rostec, which will become the basis for creating a national vendor of 4G and 5G telecom solutions) attracted the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI, a subordinate to the Ministry of Digital Development) to cooperate and conduct research work in the field of 5G and future generations of communications.

It is planned that educational programs, which will be developed by MTUCI and Spektr, will be mastered by more than 100 students in two years. Employees of the university will improve their skills in the company, and Spektr’s specialists will be involved in seminars and lectures. The rector of MTUCI Sergey Erokhin will join the Science and Technology Council of the company.

The students of MTUCI are already studying such disciplines as ‘Technologies of 5G Wireless Communication Systems’, ‘Mobile Communication Systems and the Internet of Things’, ‘Protocols of 5G Mobile Communication Systems’. The university has also conducted the Eurasia 5G Trainings educational program together with Huawei. Moreover, the university will carry out research work for the creation of 5G and 6G networks in Russia with the help of the Radio Research and Development Institute.

This is not the first cooperation of Spektr with universities in the field of 5G. In March, the company agreed on a partnership with Tomsk State University and Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University LETI.
