The State Commission on Radio Frequencies (GRFC) has adopted the 5G work plan for 2022 at the last meeting. In particular, in the third quarter of 2022 the commission will discuss the schedule for freeing up the 24.45-27.5 GHz band to enable the operation of 5G radio-electronic equipment and ensure electromagnetic compatibility with other radio services.
The State Commission on Radio Frequencies also allocated the 37-42.5 GHz frequency band to MTS for 2 years to conduct research, experimental and design work using radio-electronic facilities of 5G networks. The pilot zone will be located at VDNKh in Moscow.
Moreover, the applications for the deployment of base stations submitted by Tele2, MegaFon and MTS were approved.
