In 2020, the Russian market for consumer cloud storage services decreased by 9% to 8.9 billion rubles (equivalent to $120 million) according to a study by TelecomDaily.
According to analysts, Yandex.Disk has the largest share - 30%, and is ahead of Apple iCloud (23.4%), Mail.ru Cloud (17.6%), Dropbox (14%) and Google.Drive (8%). Over the year, the total number of cloud storage users grew by 13% to 75 million people, but the number of paying customers decreased by 9.87% to 7.3 million people. The study was conducted in December based on data from open sources, market participants and a survey of 2,000 respondents.
According to TelecomDaily CEO Denis Kuskov, in 2021 the market will decrease by another 2%, to 8.8 billion rubles, but in 2022 it will grow by up to 3% to 9.1 billion rubles (equivalent to $123 million).
