The testing of driverless public trams will begin at the Moscow depot this year, the test mode launch is scheduled for late 2022 - early 2023 as part of the Moscow transport program.

Yandex’s autonomous taxis will also be launched on several routes in Moscow by the end of the year. Deputy Mayor of Moscow and Head of the Department for Transport and Road Infrastructure Development Maxim Liksutov noted that the Moscow City Duma had approved a proposal to introduce an experimental legal regime for testing autonomous vehicles in the capital.

Earlier it was reported that the testing of autonomous vehicles in Moscow could begin in February. The experimental area will include 18 streets.
