The bill introducing the concept of NFT tokens Russian legislation has been sent to the State Duma for consideration. The definition may be introduced in article 1225 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.

According to the explanatory note, it is proposed to “recognize NFT tokens as a non-fungible token of a unique digital asset (images, videos or other digital content or asset) in the form of non-fungible data stored in a distributed ledger system (blockchain system).” It is expected that the bill will protect authors and owners of virtual property from internet fraud.
