In December, the Moscow Region will start testing a system for autonomous driving in traffic. Izvestia reports about this with reference to NP GLONASS.

In particular, by the end of the year, V2X equipment (on-board equipment, sensors for receiving and transmitting data) of Fort Telecom, MVS Group, Kaspersky Lab, Sreda Solutions, Keysight and FSUE NAMI will be tested. A unified technical data transfer standard will be developed based on the results of the testing.

“A unified technical standard is needed to ensure the mutual exchange of information between devices on vehicles produced in different countries. For instance, Russian-made V2X devices must freely exchange data with the devices of a German-made car, so that during driving in a Russian city the car will be able to receive data about the traffic situation and the phases of traffic lights switching”, - NP GLONASS explains.

Experts also note that the full implementation of the autonomous driving system is hampered by the imperfection of road infrastructure and the lack of a legal framework.
