The State Duma proposes
to secure the right to the results of AI work for the copyright holders of the computer
programs. The corresponding document was sent to the Ministry of Economic
Development on October 21.
The document proposes to make amendments to the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, according to which the rights to the intellectual property created with the help of AI (including audio and video content, analytical materials) will be assigned to its developers.
According to Alexander Zhuravlev, chairman of the commission on legal support of the digital economy of the Moscow office of the Association of Lawyers of Russia, such a step is logical, it will eliminate controversial situations, otherwise the businesses developing and investing in AI will have difficulties with monetization.
