VK, with the support from the Ministry of Digital Development has developed and launched a beta version of RuStore for Android devices.
According to the developers, more than 100 applications are now available in the store, including VK, Yandex and Sber services, applications of mobile operators, and marketplaces. So far, only a limited number of third-party developers can download applications using a personal account. The company’s experts say that personal accounts will be open to everyone in the near future.
The beta version of RuStore integrates Kaspersky Lab’s security systems, which will help moderate applications by checking them for malicious code. In the summer, RuStore plans to integrate a push notification platform, a payment system and add an app rating feature.
The Ministry of Digital Development and VK announced the launch of the app store on May 18. It is assumed that RuStore will be included in the list of programs that must be pre-installed on smartphones in Russia.
