On December 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on holding the Year of Science and Technology in Russia in 2021. The corresponding document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"To hold the Year of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation", the decree says.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Assistant to the Head of State Andrey Fursenko have been appointed co-chairs of the organising committee for the Year of Science and Technology in Russia. In addition, Putin instructed the government to develop and approve a plan for the main action plan for the Year of Science and Technology.
