VTB will open an office, where clients’ identity can be verified using smartphones.
It will be possible to book an appointment at the bank using a chatbot in WhatsApp. The company will identify clients using the phone’s MAC address and send customers the instructions via WhatsApp and will help the client find the right desk or room.
To be identified using a smartphone, the client has to be initially registered in the office, so that the smartphone of the client identifies VTB wi-fi as a home network. The customer gets a notification about the services in the bank office. If the client has a scheduled appointment, the system will automatically activate it.
By 2021, the bank plans to open all offices in the new format.
In June, Alfa Bank opened a “bank office of the future” equipped with biometric system that identifies clients at the entrance.
