Yandex has agreed to purchase an Israeli service for the rental of electric scooters Wind.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Israeli newspaper Globes reported that it is estimated at around $40 million to $50 million.
Yandex will receive Wind’s assets in Israel: scooters, software, its own production, as well as a research center in China. We are talking about about 4,500 scooters with 660,000 rides per month. In turn, Wind’s employees will become part of Yandex's international business team, Yango. After the rebranding, the company will change its name to Yango Wind.
Yandex has already been operating the country since 2018 as a ride-hailing under the name Yango and as food delivery service under Deli brand.
