Yandex did not confirm the information provided by the Israeli newspaper Calcalist about the relocation of the company’s headquarters to Tel Aviv.
“There are no plans to move Yandex headquarters from Moscow or relocate teams from Russia. The office of Yandex in Tel Aviv has been operating for many years. Its employees are developing Yango, autonomous technologies, educational projects and other services. We continue to hire people for some of the positions, including some vacancies in Israel. Relocation is available for some of the positions. We also want to help employees who work remotely get paid in a way that is convenient for them,” the representatives of Yandex explained.
According to Calcalist, the founder of Yandex Arkady Volozh turned to Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett with a request to provide special conditions for the employment of non-Israeli employees and to assist in moving the company’s headquarters to Tel Aviv.
At the end of April, it was reported that Yandex could be divided into two companies – a Russian one and an international one. The latter, in particular, will work under a different brand name. It was announced that the headquarters of the new company would be located in Yerevan or Tel Aviv.
