Yandex.Market negotiated the purchase of Private Trade, which manages the KupiVIP online store, Vedomosti reports. The deal will also include five KupiVIP offline stores located in various shopping centers in Moscow, the Mamsy online store and a 20,000 sq. m. distribution center in the districts near Moscow.
Terms of the deal were not announced. The CEO of Infoline-Analytics Mikhail Burmistrov believes that the marketplace could have paid approximately 1 billion rubles for the company, including the warehouse complex.
According to the representative of the marketplace, at the first stage Yandex.Market and KupiVIP will work and develop in parallel, but eventually the services will be integrated with each other.
According to experts interviewed by the newspaper, the acquisition of KupiVIP will allow Yandex.Market to enter the promising clothing market.
