Yandex, in partnership with the Ministry for Digital Development, will make it possible to log into Yandex’s services through the Unified Identification and Authentication System (ESIA). Users will also be able to reject this authorization method.
Yandex experts note that ESIA can be useful in services “where additional user identification is required to boost the security of transactions for sellers and buyers.”
The Ministry for Digital Development plans to introduce access through ESIA and into other Internet services used in Russia, but the exact dates and the services are not mentioned.
On Wednesday, November 24, it was also announced that Auto.ru, HeadHunter and Cian launched authorization through ESIA. Avito will also introduce additional account identification through the ESIA. To log in the user has to have a confirmed account on the government services portal.
