According to a PwC survey, the level of optimism among the leaders of the largest companies in the world reached a record one year after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly half of CEOs plan to increase their digital investments by more than 10% over the next three years.

The development of digitalization increases the risks associated with cyber threats. In 2020, there was a significant increase in the number of incidents related to cybersecurity breaches, and this has led to a sharp increase in the concern of company leaders about cyber threats. 47% of respondents ranked this threat as second on the list of issues of concern, up from 33% in 2020.

Cyberthreats are of particular concern to CEOs in North America and Western Europe, with survey respondents in these regions deeming the problem even more serious than the pandemic.
