The State of Mobile 2021 report by AppAnnie features in-depth analyses from 11 industries and 30 markets. Russian users spent 94 billion hours in mobile applications, which is 40% more than in 2019. The leaders in terms of monthly active users are WhatsApp, Instagram, Sberbank Online.
Russia is ahead of all European countries in the amount of time spent in video streaming applications: on average, a Russian spent 29 hours watching videos per quarter, which is 45% more than in 2019. YouTube became the leader in terms of time spent per user - it accounted for 30 hours per month. The audience of Kinopoisk grew the most — the growth in annual terms was 175%.
The time spent in mobile financial applications increased by 85% on average in Russia on an annualised basis. The leaders in terms of time spent were: Sberbank Online, Tinkoff Investments and Tinkoff bank application.
