Teambox is included in the “Mail.ru for business” platform’s product line.It is a cloud data storage that allows companies arrange shared access to the working documents, files and archives. It was created as an alternative to corporate file servers. The users pay for the occupied storage place. It allows to make file and folder management flexible; access from any device is available, and the latest versions of the documents are stored in the cloud.

My.Games, a Mail.ru Group's investment division, has invested $3 million (216 million rubles) in two Moscow-based game studios, VOX and Tworogue Games, as well as Wideview Games in Minsk, Belarus.

 
 Thus, My.Games has acquired minority stakes in the studios with control options. The exact amount of investments in each developer was not disclosed.

Two Moscow-Based Game Studios Attract Investments from Mail.ru Group 

SkillFactory service became part of Skillbox Holding Limited, which already includes educational platforms Skillbox and GeekBrains.

 
 Prior to the deal, Mail.ru Group had a minority stake in SkillFastory in the amount of 18.31%, as well as an option to purchase additional shares with a plan to implement it in the second half of this year. After the deal is closed, Skillbox will become the holder of a controlling stake in the service, with 61.8%.

 
 SkillFactory will develop educational projects under its own brand. At the same time, the co-founder and CEO of the service, Alexander Eroshkin, together with other co-founders, will continue to lead SkillFactory.

 
 Mail.ru Group did not disclose plans for the further development of the holding.

Mail.ru Group Adds SkillFactory to its Educational Holding, along with Skillbox and GeekBrains

A non-profit organization Russian Open Source Foundation, which will unite open-source software developers as well as coordinate the activities of educational and scientific organizations, might soon be created. By November 1, the key members will be announced, with Sberbank, VTB, Mail.ru Group, Yandex, Postgres Pro, Arenadat expected on the list, aaccording to RBC newspaper.

 
 VTB has already announced its plans to become a member of the foundation. The representative of Sberbank clarified that the company only "took part in the discussion of the initiative." Representatives of Yandex and Mail.ru Group declined to comment.

 
 NPO will presumably develop an action plan for open-source software strategy, determining performance indicators, monitor implementation, etc. It will also become an operator of the domestic repository, providing grant support for the development of such software and representing Russian open-source communities in international public organizations.

Yandex, VTB, Mail.ru Group and Other Companies Might Join Open-Source Software Development Foundation

The investment fund My.Games Venture Capital (owned by Mail.ru Group) has invested more than $82 million (6 billion rubles) in the development of game projects in four years, according to Vladimir Nikolsky, co-founder of My.Games and COO of Mail.ru Group.

 
 45 studios have received investments, of which only seven have achieved the "desired results" and have fully joined My.Games, Nikolsky said. The largest investments of $27 million (2 billion rubles) went to the Novosibirsk team of Deus Craft, the most modest investments (about $ 150,000) were put into the Belarusian studio Swag Masha.

 
 In the first half of this year, My.Games' revenue increased to $301 million (22.1 billion rubles).

Mail.ru Group Invests Over $82 Million in Game Development in Four Years

Mail.ru Group does not exclude the IPO of AliExpress Russia, as well as the assets of joint ventures with Sberbank next year.

 
 As Investor Relations Director of Mail.ru Group Tatiana Volochkovich clarified, plans for IPO of these assets have already been announced, denoting possible development scenarios through 2022-2024. At the same time, so far the board of directors has not made such a decision, she noted.

 
 According to the results of the last financial year (ended on March 31, 2021), the turnover of AliExpress Russia <a href="https://www.vedomosti.ru/business/news/2021/04/07/864855-oborot-aliexpress-v-rossii-priblizilsya-k-230-mlrd-rublei-v-2020-godu" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">reached</a> $3.1 billion (229 billion rubles). The turnover of goods from Russia during this period <a href="https://www.notion.so/aliexpressrus/AliExpress-97e03612847d4665abfd20e80e568f71" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">amounted</a> to about $755 million (55 billion rubles) and grew by 151% year-on-year.
