A 5G Demo Center was launched in the Smart City pavilion at VDNH for testing and supporting urban services based on 5th generation communications. The priority industries for the testing of 5G-based services are transport, medicine, urban safety and education.

MTS is the partner of the Moscow IT department in obtaining the necessary permits for the deployment of the pilot 5G segment, and Ericsson became the first supplier of telecommunications equipment. In September the DIT of Moscow entered into a cooperation agreement with Rostec, which will also supply 5G equipment in the future.

Big technology companies, start-ups, research institutes and industry-specific universities will have access to 5G networks for testing solutions. Patent and technical integrity of solutions and equipment will be respected during the work conducted at the 5G Demo Center.

Earlier it was reported that piloting the services for the city in the Demo Center was one of the areas of work on the development of 5G in Moscow. The city also intends to strengthen cooperation with operators in their pilot zones.

An interactive map of 5G pilot zones in the capital is available in the special ICT.Moscow project about 5G in Moscow.
