An AI medical decision support system is being implemented in Moscow clinics. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the start of a joint project with Sberbank. The system is developed on the basis of the Unified Medical Information Analysis System (UMIAS), it helps doctors at all stages of patient management, from the initial examination to the choice of a treatment regimen.

Since April, AI has been used in Moscow polyclinics to analyze X-ray images; in September, the system analyzed more than 300 thousand samples.

Three digital tools have been developed, and AI is used in making a preliminary diagnosis. The system offers the three most likely options, and the doctor makes the further decision. Since October the tool has been introduced in 45 Moscow polyclinics.

According to Sberbank CEO Herman Gref, by the end of 2022, it is planned to introduce the system for several dozen of the most common diseases, which could be identified with an accuracy of 90-95%.
