FAS Approves Kismet's Acquisition of Russian Towers

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) satisfied the request of the Infrastructure Integrator (controlled by Kismet Capital Group) to acquire the independent tower operator Russian Towers (controlled by UFG Private Equity). The parties agreed on key parameters, details will be announced after the transaction is closed.

KCG's plans to acquire Russian Towers became known in early November. Then the deal was estimated at $342,7 million (25 billion rubles). At the same time, in October, KCG and MegaFon agreed to create an independent tower infrastructure operator based on the Tower One Company (a subsidiary of MegaFon) and the operator Vertikal (controlled by KCG). It is planned to close the deal by the end of this year. Taking into account all the agreements, KCG can unite 29 thousand objects.

MTS also intends to sell its tower asset. According to the president of the company Vyacheslav Nikolaev, "active negotiations" are already underway. Potential buyers have not been named, but according to Kommersant, there are two main contenders for this asset: Service-Telecom and Kismet Capital Group.
