By 2025, sales of smart home devices in Russia will more than double, from $1.2 billion in 2021 to $2.7 billion. Such a forecast is given by the Russian State Commission for Radio Frequencies (GRFC), which relied on data from Statista and PwC analysts.

Experts note that the smart home device market conditionally consists of six segments:

  • control and communication devices (smart speakers, hubs, consoles and sockets);
  • smart home appliances (refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, washing machines);
  • security systems (video surveillance, motion sensors, programmable locks);
  • home entertainment systems;
  • lighting and comfort (smart bulbs, garage door control);
  • energy management.

Retailers also note the growth in demand for smart home devices. In 2021, M.video-Eldorado recorded a 3.5-fold increase in demand in the category. Over the past five years, Svyaznoy has seen a 5-fold increase in sales of such devices.

At the end of 2021, MegaFon noted that smart speakers with voice control were in the greatest demand during the year. In Tele2, video surveillance systems, TV set-top boxes and smart speakers turned out to be the most popular. Sockets, light bulbs and home control centers sold best at MTS.

According to the ICT.Moscow survey, which was attended by more than 350 people, users most often choose smart home devices from Xiaomi and Yandex.
